Scott Roon - Baritone

Scott has lived his entire life in the West Michigan area. He was not always focused on singing, however he grew up involved in instrumental music (trumpet). When approached by his junior high choir director about singing, he laughed it off (a decision he now regrets). He started finding his voice after his high school years by joining the church choir. After many years of singing in the choir and praise teams, he decided to move it up a notch and joined a vocal mixed group, "A Touch of Joy," for 13 years. Scott also sang locally with the Hark Up Christmas shows for several years. Southern Gospel music has always interested him and he loves listening to and singing those harmonies. Scott and his wife MaryAnn live in Hudsonville, MI and have been married for 36 years and have three sons (all married).

Dennis Deters - Bass

Dennis, Faithful Journey's bass singer, began his singing career at the age of two with his very first solo at a Christmas program at church! Since then he has always had a love for music. He studied piano for thirteen years and took four years of vocal training while in high school and college. While in college Dennis sang in several different vocal groups. Along with Scott Roon, he is one of the founding members of Faithful Journey. Dennis is married to Jan and they have three children, all of whom are married and he has six grandchildren! Dennis and Jan reside in Hudsonville, Michigan.

Tom Curtis - Lead Singer

Born in a musical family, Tom started singing in church at a very early age. He graduated from Cornerstone University with a degree in Music Performance and Directing.

In 1986, Tom and his wife Becky were married and have had 30+ wonderful years together. They have three children and  two grandchildren with whom they love spending time.

Tom was also involved in a music group from Sparta Baptist known as Free Life Singers for four years and was Music Director at Wealthy Park Baptist Church for fifteen years where he directed several musical programs. At County Line Community Church, Tom worked as Music Director and Associate Pastor for fifteen years. After leaving that position, Tom and his family joined Chapel Pointe in Jenison, Michigan where we were involved in the children’s music program for five years. In January of 2019 Tom joined Faithful Journey Quartet.

Tom Corkins - Tenor

Tom grew up in a little ghost town called Lacey, Michigan in Barry County. He was twelve years old when he started singing in his Christian school and in church. When in high school he was very active in the varsity choir, show choir, musicals, drama and Western Michigan University music camp where he was given the honor of having the annual men’s choir named after him. When he was 16, he joined a semi-professional SATB group called “The Eternity Singers” based out of Kalamazoo, Michigan. He traveled with them throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Pennsylvania. He toured with them until he graduated from high school.

He is also in the 1988 publication of Who’s Who in Music. He then went to Kellogg Community College (affectionately known as Corn Flake U) where he majored in music performance. He then went to Moody Bible Institute where he studied Bible, theology, and music and for two years was part of the Moody Chorale. Tom spent one summer singing with the Gull Lake Missionary and Bible Conference vocal group. He graduated from Cornerstone University with a degree in business where he was also a part of the Cornerstone Choral.
